PROJECTS
Complete Redevelopment
A 1960's bungalow renovation where our client wanted to completely update the property to a modern energy efficient family home.
The design featured a new entrance porch with bespoke aluminium glazing, an extension to the kitchen at the side and demolition of the garage to make way to build a new 1.5 storey annex.
Internally the changes also included for the conversion of the loft space to master bedroom suite, a new staircase location with gallery landing looking over the kitchen, a change of roof and new polymer render to cover over the existing outdated reconstituted stone type walling.
Barn Conversion Renovation
We transformed the interior of this lovely barn conversion, just outside Burford in the Cotswolds.

The renovation included for opening up the downstairs space to create an open-plan feel.

We combined the old with the new by way of maintaining and preserving as much of the original features of the building as possible and blending these with modern design options to create a fresh elegant living space.

We also achieved a successful planning approval with an application for change of use with West Oxfordshire District Council.
New Build
JB Architectural Design were asked to produce a design for this new residential dwelling in this Oxfordshire village.

An overarching factor in the design development was the task of meeting all key planning policies to ensure a successful outcome with the local authority.

The final design for this new home featured South facing bespoke aluminium glazing, photovoltaic solar panels, rainwater harvesting and electric vehicle charging, all as part of our commitment to sustainable development and reducing carbon emissions.
Family Home Renovation
This was a large development of a semi-detached three bedroom home for a growing family in West Oxfordshire.

The scheme involved demolition of the existing detached garage, a three storey extension to the side, loft conversion with box type dormer to rear, ground storey rear extension with a green living flat roof.

JB Architectural Design provided a complete design package, obtained planning permission approval and full building regulation compliance.
Cottage Extension & Renovation
This project involved a pair of old farm cottages, which had fallen in to disrepair in recent years.

We were tasked with producing a scheme to redevelop the cottages that are situated within the conservation area of Alvescot in Oxfordshire.

We obtained full planning permission for the demolition work of part of the building, erection of a two storey extension and new access from the highway.

We oversaw the project, including negotiating the purchase of land to the rear, obtaining full building regulations approval, as well as other consents required for the work.

Bungalow Modernisation Project
We helped transform this three bedroom detached bungalow with a design and planning application package.

It included for a loft conversion with roof lights to the rear and dormer window to the front.
Our client wanted to make a statement with a porch extension to the principle elevation, featuring aluminium bespoke glazing.

The brick exterior was transformed with Larch-wood cladding to the front and a silicone render applied to all other elevations, the design project also included for new landscaping and boundary treatments.

All was approved with a smooth planning application process to West Oxfordshire District Council
Community Village Hall Development
Working for the parish council, we were briefed to produce a design to extend this 1980's village hall to accommodate new office space and meeting rooms.

The design needed to achieve a successful full planning application outcome from West Oxfordshire District Council and satisfy several stakeholder requirements, as well as pay high regard to the local community need.
Listed Building Project
This grade II listed building in South Oxford required a carefully put together design and planning application.

The measured survey we took was challenging to say the least, being due to the historic nature of the house - there was not one straight wall or right angle to find!

However the project achieved a successful approval from the council and conservation officers to improve the home with a new workshop and carport, electric charging plus rear extension built with an open stream running underneath.
